About Us
Amoura Hospitality Group is a family-owned collection of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dining concepts based in South San Francisco. Founded by the Shihadeh family, our restaurants and catering operations share one philosophy: serving fresh, high-quality food made from scratch and inspired by our Palestinian roots.
For more than 50 years and three generations, our family has been part of the Bay Area’s hospitality community. From our flagship restaurant and airport outlets to our catering division and neighborhood deli, each concept reflects the same hands-on approach—preparing food fresh from scratch every day.

Our menus feature dishes from across the Eastern Mediterranean—family recipes and regional specialties that highlight the diverse flavors, ingredients, and techniques of this vibrant culinary region. Our home is South San Francisco and we cook with the bounty of Northern California’s ingredients, blending Mediterranean traditions with the flavors of our home.
Our Family Story
Our family’s story is rooted in the traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, where recipes and techniques have been passed down through generations. Inspired by those family meals and the values of hospitality they represent, Amoura creates vibrant, delicious food from simple, high-quality ingredients.
Owner Sam Shihadeh grew up in South San Francisco, helping his parents run their neighborhood market, School House Grocery, which has served the community since 1969. Those early experiences in the family business inspired his lifelong passion for hospitality and food made with care.
Today, Amoura remains a true family enterprise. Sam’s nephew, son, and daughter all play active roles across the restaurant and the group’s other concepts, carrying forward a legacy of hospitality that began more than five decades ago.
